At least 18 terrorists were killed and several wounded in an attack that targeted the base of the 14th Inter-Arms Regiment in Djibo, Soum Province, in the morning (local time) of October 24, 2022.
According to an army statement, at least 10 soldiers were also killed in the clashes, as well as some 50 wounded.
A sweeping operation was triggered in the region to search for the remaining terrorists.
As a reminder, attacks by terrorist militants are very common in Soum province, particularly in Djibo where security forces are often targeted. Similar attacks cannot be ruled out in the region in the near future.
